Eligibility for Columbia University Scholarship for Displaced Students
This scholarship award program is for
Foreign citizens with refugee standing residing anywhere in the world, or
Who have gotten US asylum or handed in a US asylum application,
Are in the United States under Temporary Protected Status, or
Are Internally Displaced Persons.
US permanent residents (green card holders, national, etc.) are not qualified for the scholarship award.
There are no age limits on the scholarship award.

How to Apply for Columbia University Scholarship for Displaced Students
Applicants must
Apply straight to a Columbia degree program and be admitted, IN ADDITION TO filling out the scholarship award application form.
Fill out and submit their online application prior to handing in the scholarship form.
Once the candidate creates their online Columbia degree application, they will get an application ID/reference number via their Columbia school’s corresponding application system. This has to be entered in the scholarship award application form.
Be aware that every school and program has its own acceptance criteria and application closing dates. However, acceptance to an academic program DOES NOT assure funding via the scholarship award (candidates may be admitted to an academic program but not get funding through the scholarship program).
Candidates will only be assessed for the scholarship award if they are granted admission to the degree program for which they have put in. They in turn will be notified regarding the scholarship award only after program admissions decisions are made.
