Danish Government Scholarship at University of Southern Denmark 2024

The University of Southern Denmark is providing the Danish Government Scholarship to suitably qualified candidates for master’s degree programs commencing in 2024.

The University of Southern Denmark took in the first scholars at the Odense campus in September 1966, and things have been growing by leaps and bounds since then. They now boast of five faculties with over 27,000 scholars, almost 20% of whom are from overseas, and over 3,800 staffs distributed across their main campus in Odense and regional campuses in Slagelse, Kolding, Esbjerg and Sønderborg. A lot of foreign studies document that they carry out first-class research and are among the top fifty young universities in the world.

The University is continuously looking for candidates of the highest calibre and, in recognition of the significant investment that foreign candidates are making in their education, they are happy to provide scholarship awards to certain candidates!

SDU provides the Danish Government Scholarship award – backed and financed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Science.

Worth of Danish Government Scholarship

The Danish Government Scholarship award comprises of two parts: full tuition fee waiver and a stipend, to assist with living expenses amounting to DKK 6090 each month before taxes.

Eligibility for Danish Government Scholarship

Applicants have to come from a non-EU/EEA nation and be qualified to pay tuition fees.
The scholarship award will be granted to the best qualified of the eligible candidates.
All qualified candidates who are granted a study place will automatically be given consideration for the scholarship award. No separate application is required.

Selection criteria
The best-qualified applicants on the basis of points will be granted the scholarship award. Please check Entry criteria for each program. All documents have to be available prior to application closing date, to ensure that they can process your application.

How to Apply for Danish Government Scholarship

To put in for a Master’s degree program at the SDU, you are required to submit an application through the online application website.
Before you can start your application, you are required to create a user profile in the application system. When you create a user, you have to submit a copy of your passport or another ID comprising photo, name, date of birth and nationality.
If you reside in Denmark, you can also sign on with NemID. If you possess a login from a different Danish educational institution, you can also make use of this to gain access to the application system.
You can submit application to up to three programs at the University of Southern Denmark. You only need to submit an application for each program. When you have submitted over one application, you will be required to prioritize the programs you have put in for – the same goes when you put in for the third program.
If you set up over three priorities, you will only obtain a response to the highest three. The rest will be void.

Accommodation
Please be aware that your application for a Master’s degree program is not by default also an application for accommodation.
Please proceed to the Accommodation website to put in for accommodation.
If you have submitted applications to programs in more than one city, you should apply for accommodation in each of the cities.
