Shoppers Drug Mart/Pharmaprix is currently looking to recruit cashiers. The job role entails maintaining excellent customer service and checkout area for prompt and accurate processing of the customer’s order.

Duties And Responsibilities For The Cashier Job

CUSTOMER SERVICE

1. Provides excellent customer service and positively engages with all customers
2. Maintains a neat and organized checkout area
3. Greets all customers and displays warm demeanor
4. Accurately scans or enters product data
5. Accurately accounts for cash and coupon, lottery, and PC Optimum
6. Asks for customer’s PC Optimum Card during each transaction
7. Answers inquiries regarding location of product, rain-checks, refunds, PC Optimum

MERCHANDISING

1. Ensures proper documentation completed with respect to customers receipt and return of goods
2. Completes merchandising tasks as directed and maintains efficient flow of merchandise from backroom to sales floor
3. Merchandises and maintains designated areas (i.e. facing, signing, labeling, etc)
4. Advises appropriate person regarding stock outs/shortages
5. Performs stock counts and orders for designated areas

LOSS PREVENTION

1. Ensures loss prevention Standards are followed
2. Controls cash, lottery, and stamp inventory in accordance with prescribed cash handling policies and procedures
3. Maintains proper security of cash and merchandise

Other Duties Of The Cashier

1. Presents proper image to the public in accordance with Uniform Policy and Dress Code Guidelines (i.e. clean appearance, approved uniform, name badge)
2. Complies with all health and safety regulations
3. Complies with all store policies and procedures
4. Ensures the standards of housekeeping and image are maintained
5. Perform other duties as required
6. Completes all training and new initiatives on SDMU
